Supporting Basic Needs
A recent study revealed that two-thirds of California community college students face food or housing insecurity with nearly half unsure about their next meal. One in four are also at risk of homelessness. LAUNCH’s Apprenticeship System Navigators and robust network of community-based organizations work with participants to access the community college system and enter into a registered apprenticeship program. Their holistic approach to providing wraparound care allows underserved and under resourced community members to break down their barriers to success, ensuring they can reach their educational and career goals.
Building Tomorrow's Workforce
LAUNCH develops regional apprenticeship hubs to ensure that the talent pipeline entering the workforce meets the needs of their local labor market. Through industry engagement, partner education and development, and supporting worker voice, we leverage the strength of these regional hubs to grow apprenticeships across the state. LAUNCH and our workforce partners connect industry to candidates through pre-apprenticeship programs, employability skills training, and apprenticeship committees that allow for career matching, resulting in greater retention and overall job satisfaction.
